Default Moving back to the UK... USC and Me...

Just at the what-if(?) stage here...
Scenario... I've lived in the US for nearly 20 years, married to my USC partner. I'm "retired" and she's approaching retirement. We have $1million-ish+ in assets plus small pensions.
We're considering moving to the UK permanently.
Of course, that's no problem for me, but I think the days of turning up at the border and saying this is my missus have gone.
What are the basic criteria for permanent residence in those circumstances? What would be the road map?
Thx

You need to sponsor her for a spouse visa.

Here is the website for visa application:

https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa

Here is the document for financial requirements:

As said you need the have income of 29K to apply. That can be from employment, pensions, savings etc.

You also need to show you have accommodation in the UK when you make the application.
