Mccolb's questions about British citizenship eligibility
My father was born in Holland, the birth was registered in the British Consulate and I have a copy of the certificate. He was 'British' by all accounts and i his mother was in Holland at the time. He spent the rest of his life in Scotland and the UK before emigrating to Rhodesia in the 60s. In 1952 he was sent military service conscription papers by the Dutch and British Governments and, in his words, he had to choose. He chose the British army and was a 2nd Lieutenant for a couple of years. He then left for Rhodeisa, met my mom and the rest they say is history! I have a copy of his last British passport and it states clearly 'British Citizen' in the relevant section.
So based on your expertise, do you have any hints as to how I may try for British Citizenship through my Dad?

Hi, welcome to BE. I've moved your post in to a thread on it's own - tacking it on to the end of somebody else's very old thread may mean it gets overlooked.
I'm sure our forum pros will be along to help shortly.
Good luck.
