Hi,

My partner (in Japan) has just got her spouse visa through the post. She is due to arrive in the UK from the 3rd of July however her BRP collection date is from the 10th of July.

She was planning to arrive in the UK on the 3rd, then collect BRP and travel to Europe from the 5th-11th of July however her BRP will not be ready in time for her to get it before she travels. Is there any way she can travel without her BRP? or alternatively when she arrives in the UK the first time (3rd) could she come in on a tourist visa before using her spouse visa on the 11th and then go on to collect the BRP?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If her spouse visa starts on 3 July then she can't enter the UK on a visitor stamp instead. I've yet to see one of the new settlement vignettes in the flesh - does it state 'Number of entries: Multi'?

Yes it does say 'Number of entries: Multi'

Does that mean she can enter multiple times in the given period (30days)?

Okay, so yes, she can come and go as she pleases within that 30 day period.
