Items of correspondence for Spouse visa
Hi,
I've started looking at the documentation for applying for the spouse visa for my partner, she is currently here on a fiance visa (she's a US citizen), we are getting married in May and will be extending\switching to the visa, I've been looking at the mandatory and other documents and have a few questions: Items of correspondence - "You must provide at least 6 items of correspondence, addressed to you and your partner jointly or in both your names.", my partner has only been here since January and currently we only have council tax and water rates in both names, my partner has a UK bank account registered at the same address but that is all she has so will be 3 documents short of the requirements - I tried to update other utility bills but British Gas can only have one name on the bill, would a cover letter explaining things suffice as the application seems to be written for people who have lived together for 2 years or more which seems almost impossible to do on spouse visas? Also down as an 'other document' is a letter from my employer, I'm happy to provide this but really didn't want to inconvenience the company (I will be providing pay slips, bank details and a copy of my contract anyway) is this a requirement? Thanks Derek |
Re: Items of correspondence for Spouse visa
You don't need documentation covering 2 years as you have only just married.
You provide exactly the same documentation as you did for your fiance visa PLUS your marriage certificate. You employment contract was fine for the fiance visa so will be fine for the spouse visa. |
