Immigration/Passport status

Is anyone having an issue receiving a US passport back from UK Visa and Immigration. My husband sent off all the appropriate documentation/biometrics on Novembe10th, paying extra for Priority and Courier UPS service. We know a decision has been made but that's about it. Tried calling and communicating online but hard to get an answer as to when his passport will be returned. Does anyone have any other way to find out a passport/immigration status?

Why did you send the US passport? Is this a first passport app or a renewal?

Re: Immigration/Passport status

The application was made through the UK government immigration process and we also had assistance with an Immigration Law firm in London. His application is for a Settlement visa as we are retiring to the UK. We followed the directions as per the UK Gov website which was to send the application/passport and biometrics to UKVI immigration Centre in NY. I am a UK citizen so did not have to go through the application process. We are currently living in Pennsylvania and as our house has already sold we are now living in a hotel that I have to keep extending the stay here. Very frustrating (and costly)!!

When were you notified that a decision had been made?

An email was sent to the lawyer on December 16th and he forwarded it to us on the 17th. The email just said a decision had been made and we would receive more information where to collect the passport. That tells me it's just the same email sent out to everyone as we paid extra for expedited service and courier overnight service!

If your husband is due to receive his passport by courier then it’s likely a Christmas post delay.

Post from the UK to the US has been erratic to say the least - even before Christmas
Some post to me has taken nearly 2 weeks, another time just 5 days. .......
