Default Howdy - British passport for son?

Greetings all,,,,after searching Googled and seeing many different answers I thought I'd post this here for any helpful advice on my query,,,,, I was born UK 1963 and held a passport till 2014, I lived in Ireland from 95-08 whereupon I emigrated with my wife and Dublin born son to Sydney, we all have Oz passports now.
My question is, if I want to get a UK passport for my 17 yr old son, is this doable, and has anyone gone down this road
Many thanx for anyone who can offer advice on this subject
Cheers all Paul

Yep, you’re correct! I clicked on eligibility on the gov.uk site and it took me there, and I didn’t realise I’d wandered on to a slightly different area.

Yes, your son is eligible for a British passport. He can also apply for an Irish passport if he hasn’t already done so.
