Default How long will it take for a spouse to register as citizen

What's the time duration for my wife to have the citizenship ?
I read from the Read me thread:
Initial Entry Clearance is granted for 2.5 years Limited Leave to Remain for a further 2.5 years
Indefinite Leave to Remain after a total of 5 years (or 10 years in some special cases)

So total of 5 years can apply citizenship?

Does your wife has British National (Overseas) status?

If she does, she should use her BN(O) passport to apply for a spouse visa for the UK. BN(O) passport holders are class as Commonwealth Citizens in the UK and as such they are able to -

1) vote in UK elections Who can register to vote? | Registering to vote | Coventry City Council

2) apply for UK civil service jobs

As a BN(O) your wife can opt to register rather than naturalise as a British citizen when the time comes using Form B(OTA) rather than Form AN which attracts a smaller fee. The current difference is £115.

No, they are register straight away providing they are resident in the UK, i.e. not a visitor.
