Honeymoon logistics question - spouse visa
My partner and I are getting married in the UK in 4 weeks time. I am british by birth and have lived here my whole life, and she is from the USA. We have lived together here in the UK for just over a year.
Straight after the ceremony we are flying out to Italy for 4 nights for the honeymoon...are we likely to have any border issues on our return?
My OH will be flying on her original passport in her maiden name. She holds a T4 visa which is valid until Feb 2019. We plan to get her passport changed to her married name on our return (embassy appt already booked), then submit her spouse visa application around 8-9 weeks from now.
I am concerned (perhaps needlessly) that UK border and customs won't be loving the fact that we got married under her T4 visa (despite having home office approval), and i've heard lots of airport customs horror stories...the last thing we want is for anything to count against her spouse visa application.
Should i be worried?
