General steps for Spouse/family
Hi all.
Long story short me (UK citizen born and raised) and my Wife (USA spouse) want to apply for the spouse visa to bring her over. We did the whole legal permanent resident route for me, 2 year conditional then 10 year card.

We are no strangers to odd rules and hoops and evidence! Been trying to wrap my head around the exact steps to apply and actually "who" applies?
With the financial requirements I shall be returning to the UK to obtain the required amount for the minimum of 6 months before an application.

Who actually applies? Do I apply in the UK for my wife or does she apply from the USA?

We will be staying with my father in his house. I know we need a land registry document? A letter from my father saying yes they can stay etc..

We have been married for 13 years and have a 12 year old daughter..

What are the steps to apply? I've read that it's done online, evidence uploaded , biometrics and then she mails her passport etc off to New York?

Thank you for reading and any replies, sorry for possible rambling.

Paul ...

Re: General steps for Spouse/family
Wife applies from US once YOU can show you earn 18,600 GBP per annum

Procedure from USA seems to be different to other places so the following will help:

Application usually takes around 3 months unless you want to pay for priority service.

Yes you need land registry document, proof of relationship and proof of financial requirements.
