Form ARD which example to reference from the guidance document

Hi, I'm trying to figure out which example from the guidance doc to site in my application.
  • My great grandparents born in England (1898, 1903)
  • My grandmother was born in England (1939)
  • my mom born in the USA (1956)
  • I'm born in the USA (1977)
I'm claiming If not for historical legislative unfairness/gender discrimination my mother could have registered me at birth as a British citizen by descent under Section 5(1)(b) of the 1948 British Nationality Act (consular birth registration). I am therefore now eligible to register as a British citizen due to the recent changes in to BNA 1981, specifically Section 4L and Section 4C(3D), as well as Section 4C (1), (2), (3), (3A), and (4) of the BNA 1981.
any help is appreciated

Dwight example! It's the one I used with very, very similar circumstances as you. It's #13.

That's the one I was thinking, just didn’t know if it would apply since I'm a female and Dwight is a male.

Yeah, that doesn't matter as your sex wouldn't have mattered for citizenship at birth. If it helps, I'm female and successfully applied under ARD. Waiting on my passport now!

Congratulations! Thanks. How long was your wait for approval?

Oh, it was an awful wait. From the time I submitted to when I got a decision was just over 9.5 months, and from biometrics to approval was just over 7.5 months. Then another four months before I got to do the citizenship ceremony (waited two months for the appointment invitation, then two months to the appointment). So almost 14 months in total. I did apply only about four months after the ARD application had been created, so maybe it was slower-going with it back then.

Now my passport is taking forever though! Took them a week to acknowledge receipt of my documents and it's been over a week since then and I'm still waiting for them to approve it. I feel like someone over there has a grudge against me!

I think for others, from what I've seen here and elsewhere, all these steps have gone more quickly, but be prepared for a wait just in case and you can be pleasantly surprised if it your process goes faster. I had zero communication from the HO while they had my app from biometrics until it was approved.

Oh wow, that was a long time. When you submitted your application and documents how did you organize it? Did you put it in a folder or paperclip anything together?

I alligator clipped all the papers together. I had a brief cover letter, fee slip, long argument (typed), application form, document inventory, documents and passport (sent original and recommend sending color copies instead). Put in tyvek envelope inside mailing envelope.

They picked it for me. It was the nearest consulate to where I live.
