FLRM absence from UK

Hello

My wife got her first FLRM BRP issued on 22/04/2017 and is due to expire on 22/10/2019. I have calculated that within this period she would be out of the UK for a total of 187 days. Is this okay? Will she also be able to apply for next FLRM in October 2019 without any issues?

Thank you

I think your dates are a little off.

Which visa did your wife hold before her current visa?

187 days in 30 months isn’t a problem. Be mindful that during the final year of her next visa she cannot be outside the UK for more than 90 days in order to qualify for ILR.

Thanks for your help Brit. Is there a need to explain her period of absence in the cover letter for the next application? Also what is the maximum time she's allowed to be out the country for within the period I mentioned initially?

No need for an explanation unless that time was one long absence. There are no hard and fast rules for spouse visa holders but any more than six months in any given 12 month period may cause problems.
