FLR(M) How to escalate or ask about progress

Hi all,

We are currently applying for our FLR(M) extension.
It's now been 6 full weeks since we submitted our biometrics via the IDV app.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances we really want to make some urgent travel arrangements.
So would like to check on the status of our application with immigrations. More to get an idea if it's still in the queue or is it being looked at.

We tried calling the UK Visas and Immigration contact centre (contact number below) as found on the government website.
But they say clearly on the pre-recorded message when calling that all agents are not able to check or tell us our status.

My questions is:
How have people managed to escalate or checked with immigrations the the status of their application in the past?
Is there another telephone number we can call or is there a email we can write to check on the status?

Thanks,
Dino

Can't help on where to check regards status (where you had your biometrics done?) but don't hold you breath on escalation in this day and age.
