Financial Requirments for Spouse Visa
Hi all,
In the next few months my partner will be applying for a spouse visa. I just need to clear up some things that are on my mind regarding my financial requirements:
Having recently returned from New Zealand having lived away from the UK for the last 8 years I secured a contract role working through an umbrella company in December. With the nature of working through an umbrella company you are treated and seen by HMRC as an employee.
I know the requirements are to have 6 months of constant work. If I were to change employer in this 6 months is this seen would reset the time worked even if the work is continuous? What about changing after this 6 month period once the visa has been lodged?

There are better people to answer most of your questions on categories of employment.
But I would be worried to change jobs while application is pending, because they can call your employer any minute to confirm your employment, and if your main employer say "not anymore", I'm sure it's straight away refusal.
