financial requirements. source of money?
I'm the sponser and I'm meeting my FR with cash savings and employment salary. regarding cash savings，do rhey want me to declare the source of the money? Like if someone gave me the money and i save it in my account for 6 months, will they still want prove of where and how the person that gave me the money got it? Also do i have to keep the savings frozen in my account for after i get the visa，like for 2.5 years or do they just want me and the applicant to have 18,600 for 2.5?

I also need to research this cause I was gifted the 62,500 from my mum into my Halifax savings account but I earn $51,000 here in US.
can i use my US earnings OR does it have to be UK earnings for the spouse visa?

I have tried my link in post 2 and it definitely goes through to the UK government pdf for immigration instructions for family migration.
I've nicked this post from uk-yankee as their poster ksand (2nd post) explains these spouse visas so well.
