Family Visa for my wife to be who is American, Im from UK
Hey so me and my partner have been together for nearly a year and she is looking to come live with me in the UK for good. We plan on getting married in US and living in Scotland in my home. I have a couple questions about the finical side of the whole process!
So the biggest worries my partner has is that i am self employed. I have read up loads about it but some i do not understand. I read that i have to earn £18,600 *GROSS* a year. Now currently we are six months thru the year and my business has earned £18,000 before tax. Obviously i will pass the £18,600 mark by April but does it look for your net profit or is it actually just the total income your business makes thru the year?
Second question, in the UK we can have a planned overdraft with our bank accounts. I use my overdraft frequently as being self employed I do not get paid weekly nor do i get paid on time all the time. Does going in and out of my planned overdraft have any negative effects on our application? I was told by my bank to use an overdraft to boost my credit rating as it proves i can go in and out of debt.
Thanks for your help in advance
