EU kids with British mother
I have been trawling the web to see if my kids can automatically apply for Britsh passports having been born in Portugal, with portuguese father and never having lived in the UK. Seems that only the father can pass citizenship for children born after a certain date?? Sorry if this has been discussed here already but I couldn't find a thread that wasn't from a father, as oppose to a mother

You will need to supply a number of documents so that the Passport Office can establish whether the application is valid -

Any supporting documents that are not in English or Welsh will need to be translated.

If you are the mother, you were born in the UK and your children were born in Portugal in 1983 or later then they are already British citizens by descent and therefore you need only to apply for their passports. HKG3 has given you the correct link.

If the OP's children are coming back to the UK for good, I would suggest that she should register the children's birth with the British Foreign Office. This will make obtaining a birth certificate in the UK easier for the children. Please see link below for more information -
