My cas is kind of the same i overstayed after beeing a vectim of traficking , i comes back volountry but on the state expenses , i'm applaying next friday for an EEU family permit after beeing living with my Romanian wife in Morocco for 7 months now !!
I would be glad if u can provide me any kind of help or informations i can use and wish you all the best brother

It doesnt matter if you overstayed or if you left on state expenses, the bans do not apply to you if you are going to apply under european regulations..only if you are considered a threat to public security or public health thats the only reason they can refuse you...the rest does not apply..
I applied on 11th april i received my EEA FP on 27th im now in the UK with my family.
It was pretty much straight forward..we renounced british Citizenship and applied under EU with my wifes Irish passport and it got accepted..next stage for me now is to apply for 5 years residence card
