duel citizenship dilemma

Hello,

I am in the process of applying for my USA citizenship. I have a British passport and have lived in the States on a green card for 29 years. My application is currently "being reviewed". I have had the biometrics done and just waiting for the interview etc. Problem is i want to go home for a vacation in Aug/Sept for a week or so and my British passport expires around the same time.

Can I use my British passport to travel on right up to the date of expiration?
If I applied to renew my British passport now would it negatively affect my application for US Citizenship?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Re: duel citizenship dilemma

Why not go ahead and renew your British passport now. Recent reports are that it will take about two weeks. It will not affect your US citizenship application.

You can use your current passport to travel between the UK and the USA until the day it expires.
