Default dual uk and us citizen marrying uk citizen

Hi all! Hopefully I am posting in the right forum- new to this site! I was born and raised in the USA but have a UK passport also from both my parents. My fiancé is a UK citizen and we want to hold our legal/civil ceremony in the UK- but it states we are to have lived in the county for 7 days. I however am living in the USA at the moment, so does anyone have any idea on how we would go about this? Would I still need to get a visa to marry him there? We plan to live in the UK after marriage (ceremony will be in the US, civil/legal marriage will be in the UK) Thanks for any advice!

If you're a British citizen and hold a valid British passport then no visa is required. You can just move to the UK and get married in your own time. You'll need to give notice of our intended marriage in the usual manner which is 17 days.

What BiP said - as a British citizen you can't get a visa to marry in the UK, but you will have to comply with "time in country" requirements.
