Dual Citizenship in the USA and UK
I am an adult in the US. My dad was born in the UK but moved to the US for my US mom. I want to get dual citizenship in the UK. The UK gov website is confusing and I need help on where to apply for dual citizenship. Thanks!

Were your parents married when you were born?
If yes, you are automatically a British Citizen and have been since birth. You just need to apply for a passport if you want one.

If your father was born in the UK you don't need to "apply" for dual citizenship; you likely already have it. There may be some minor complications if you were born prior to 1983 and your parents weren't married (it would be more complicated if your British citizenship had been acquired through your mother prior to 1983), but if you were born since then you just need to obtain a copy of your father's birth certificate and then apply for a British passport.

Providing your parents were married at the time of your birth then you are already a British citizen and can apply directly for your British passport.
