I was born in Northern Rhodesia now Zambia in 1960. Do I qualify for a British passport?

If one of your grandparents was born in the UK and you hold a Commonwealth passport, you may be qualify for an UK Ancestry visa. Please see link below -

As I said above, if you still hold a Commonwealth passport and your grandfather being born in Wales, you can apply for an UK Ancestry visa.

Re: do I qualify for a British passport
As HKG3 has pointed out, as a South African with a UK born grandparent, you should be eligible for an ancestry visa.
For citizenship, there's more information needed, about your parents and grandparents, to determine whether or not you would have a claim. There was a very similar thread recently, I'll try and find it.
ETA: here it is: http://britishexpats.com/forum/citiz...decent-856541/
I think BritinParis and JAJ are the experts...

Thanks I will appreciate it. If you think I do qualify what is the process? Some people have said there was an age limit to the claim so I have never tried to submit a claim.

Re: do I qualify for a British passport
There are some potentially useful links in the thread I linked...
Was your grandfather in Crown Service at the time of his child's (your mother or father) birth? Were your grandparents married? When was your parent born?
Your parent might be British by descent, or British otherwise than descent. Until that is determined, no one can answer your question .

A late post after almost a year.. but I was reading your enquiry. There is no age limit. Hopefully you have resolved this but in case not,I found this information on philp gamble:
Northern Rhodesia (the former name for Zambia) was a former British Protectorate until it gained Independence on 23 October 1964. As a consequence, you or your children may be eligible for British Nationality if:
