Disability living allowance versus financial requirements

Hello guys. I will be applying soon for my spouse visa. My only child will also be applying with me. I have sole custody after my divorce and my ex husband is giving his permission for me to take her with me. Now my husband is to show £22400 for two of us. Luckily he is able to. However he has a disability and is on DLA (disability living allowance ) which is a ground for exemption.
My question is what is the best thing to do? We want to show we meet the financial requirements even though he's disabled and doesn't have to, at the same time Appendix 2 form asks if sponsor is on disability allowance and say if you tick YES you move to another section. Once you tick yes you are not to fill the financial requirements details. How do we show both information in our application? Do we tick yes but go ahead to fill the financial requirements part of the form? Or do we tick yes, leave that part but include all details in the sponsor letter and other things to show financial requirements like P60, payslips, bank statement , letter from employers (he works two jobs) etc? Or should we leave section 3 and fill section 4 instead (Maintenance from those exempt from the financial requirements)? Please help I'm really confused . Thank you
