Does anyone know the current processing times for UK passports? I did my application online on December 11, 2021 and mailed documents from the US to the office. I checked the status and it says it is being processed since January 18, 2022. That is approximately 7 weeks now. I have not heard back from them that they need any additional info.

Someone reported here, that in December 2021 processing was only taking two weeks. .... Are you applying for a renewal or is this your first British passport?

I applied for a first time passport for my kids.
They got back to me after 3 week. (Unfortunately for me I needed to send additional documentation).

I have an explanation and a complaint. I found two emails regarding the passport application in my junk/spam folder of email. They require additional documentation, which I have now mailed, I found it odd that the email address was from Belfast, as I had no idea that there is a passport processing center there. Also, I didn’t receive any postal mail about the application until TODAY. Finally, there is no indication on the passport website that any additional documents are needed. It just say “processing”. The online application seems to be new, and asks for feedback. Once I finally receive the passport, I will give feedback!

I applied for a first British passport for my son on Feb 8th. It was approved today - yes, on a Sunday morning. Maybe the passport folks are working harder than I've been giving them credit for!

Can someone advise on how long does the passport office update the application status? DHL delivered my old passport last Monday and my application status still showing that "Send your document" today when I check the status. Is this normal?

It took about two days between my documents being signed for and the tracker changing to 'being processed'.

It has been almost two weeks and the status is still Send your documents. Should this be something concerning ?

It sounds a bit odd. It sounds like you got a signature when they were delivered? If so, I would contact the passport office to ask what's happening, giving the signed delivery date.

DHL has a delivery form showing a name who signed for but not an actual signature.

During COVID people aren't physically signing anymore, that wouldn't be a red flag for me right now.
