Default Current employer's details

Hello
Just trying to complete the online visa application on the visa4uk site.

We are requested to submit details of my husband's current employer here in Australia.

Until we secure the visa we don't want to hand in our notice at work so naturally don't want immigration to make contact with his employer until that time. Has anyone any further experience or knowledge of why they might need these details?

Many thanks.

If your husband is British and he is the sponsor for a spouse visa AND he is applying under Category B (in current work and having job to go to in the UK) then they need proof of his current employment.
