Confused about mandatory document checklist
 

My wife is applying for a spouse visa to the UK (applying from the US). Today she had her biometrics appointment at a USCIS center. She took with her the Document Checklist (which the .Gov application process had us download as a mandatory action). The friendly USCIS folk wouldn't signed it, saying they didn't deal with scanning.

The document clearly states "do not sign until you are at your appointment" - but no-one wanted to sign it even at our appointment! This sounds like it's more geared towards people using a VFS premium service. As we are not using that service, are we ok to disregard the Document Checklist, and not include it in our application?

Any help very gratefully received.

Answering my own question here. I called the UK visa help number. The advised that when submitting from the US, and when using a USCIS center, the document checklist should be completed and signed by the applicant before being included in the package sent for scanning. It does not need to be signed by an official if using a USCIS center for the biometric appointment.

They didn't sign anything on mine either. they did however stamp it with some red stamp and initial it and add their worker ID number.

That's all they did. Then I signed my portion of it and sent it off.
