Citizenship by double descent
Hello all,
I hope everyone is safe and well.
I am hoping that someone will have some experience with citizenship by double descent and they could impart their knowledge.
My mother in law was born in Australia to a British father in 1946. My husband is Australian born 1978.
I realise we cannot apply for his double descent directly, BUT if my mother in law were to apply for her British passport could we then apply for my hubby’s citizenship by double descent?
If so are there any hurdles to her getting a passport?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Citizenship by double descent
There's been no change since you last asked this question. Your mother-in-law holding a British passport doesn't affect her citizenship nor your husband's eligibility. From the information given your husband is not eligible for British citizenship but if your intention to move to the UK then he would be eligible for a UK Ancestry visa.
