UK Spouse Visa - Proof of Accom and Timing for Application Submission
Good day,
I am a British citizen living in Canada, planning to returning to the UK with my daughter (British citizen) and my husband (Canadian citizen). We intend to apply for a UK spouse visa for my husband. Currently, and for the last 10 months I have been on unpaid maternity leave in Canada. Prior to this maternity leave, I was employed in a fixed term contract, which ended at the time my maternity leave started (Nov 2017). I have a confirmed permanent job offer to start in the UK in February 2019. With the sale of our property, we will have enough cash savings for the Spouse visa financial requirement however, the sale does not close until end of December 2018 and with my employment starting early February, this is very little time to submit and obtain a visa decision - we will likely have to go the super-priority route. Given that my daughter is only 1 year old, we'd like to avoid me settling in the UK before my husband.
We do not have any family or friends who we could stay with so our predicament is with the proof of accommodation and the way I see it we have the following options:
1. Find a property rental (min. 6 months?) before our intended arrival and have the rental agreement in place prior to the Spouse visa application submission. We would have to rent a place based on photos and perhaps a skype/video tour OR;
2. My husband, daughter and I go to the UK prior to my employment start date and find a rental in person (my preference). My husband (Canadian citizen) would stay up to 6 months (standard maximum amount of time that a Canadian can visit) and return to Canada where we would then submit the spouse visa application.
My question is, has anyone had any experience applying for a spouse visa right after having your spouse spend a few months in the UK and if so, was this looked at as unfavourable by the ECO? Does anyone know if the applicant must be out of the UK for a set amount of time before they can apply for the UK spouse visa?
Thank you in advance for any insight/experience.

There’s no disadvantage or waiting period.
