Default certified or notarised?

Hi I have the original land registry documents for our property and need to send these off, but it was suggested on here that I should send a copy. If I get a copy certified by the Town Council of where I live or by my bank would that be ok? I contacted a notary public and they want me to make an appointment and the charge is per page - they are mad here!

OH says just to send the originals because I am sending all other original documents like marriage certificates etc and they should send it all back. I was just trying to make the package smaller
