Can we back to UK / Netherlands legally ???
Hi , I'm George ,
My wife is born in Netherlands on 1976
and her parents was HongKonger and hold the British passport ( Subject : CUKC) and work permit work in Netherlands from 1971 - 1982
( very old British passport Hong Kong , there is no Indicate abode )
Dutch Nationality cannot automatically by birth ,
So , she cannot be Dutch on that moment , her parents issue her Birth Certificate and first passport in British Consulate (Subject : CUKC)
on around 5 years old , she by oneself go to Hong Kong live with her grandfather , her parents keep stay work in Netherlands .
Once when her passport expire (Renewal in 5 years of Children passport) , It is handle my Hong Kong Immigration and my subject was changed from CUCK to BDTC and strikethrough line the "Right abode in UK" wording on my passport . Started from passport renewal date , she cannot not back to UK and Netherlands .
The worse case now becasue of the Hong Kong handover on 1997 , my Subject from BDTC to BNO once again . this is the type of British passport which without abode in UK and without EU right .
Anyone here the case same as me ?
Can she trace-back the right ? let we can back to Netherlands ?
We planning trace-back the nationality , let we can back to Netherlands before BREXIT.

If you both only hold HKSAR/BN(O) passports then you are not British citizens and therefore do not have the right to reside in the Netherlands under EEA freedom of movement rules.
That being said other European countries are almost always unaware of the different categories of British nationals and will likely treat you as British citizens all the same.*

Nothing you have said suggests she has a claim to British citizenship. CUKC status ceased on 31 December 1982. Unless your wife or one of your wife's parents held Right of Abode in the UK on that date then they would not have become British citizens.
