Bringing my US fiancée to the UK after marriage

Hi everyone,

So as the title suggests, I'll be bringing my fiancée to the UK. We plan on her visiting here for a couple of months before getting married abroad and then returning to the UK within the 6 month period she'll be allowed to be here without a visa. My question is, is it possible to apply for the family visitor visa whilst she is already in the UK during those 6 months?

Our original plan was to get married in the US in January, but with the covid restrictions over there right now, it has become impossible. We've decided to stay here in the UK for now and potentially be here for either 2.5 or 5 years before ultimately moving to the US.

Any help will be appreciated as a lot of information online about this seems very vague.

Thanks very much

No you can't apply for a visa while in the UK as a visitor

She needs to return to the US and apply for her fiance/spouse visa from there.
