BNO VS BRITISH CITIZEN

Hi people

I was wondering if anyone can help/ advise/ guide. As you may be aware of the BNO scheme for Hong Kongers is in effect and thousands of Hong Kongers are moving to the UK through their BNO passports ( BNO = British nationals overseas ) and they are allowed to bring their dependent family members with them too without having to meet the stringent financial requirements otherwise required to meet.

I was wondering if the above exception is also given to British citizens living abroad( in Hong Kong ) who have non British dependent family members to come over without having to meet the financial requirements? or they have to meet the financial requirements of earning 18K annually + 2.5K additional per family member ?

Kindly advise if there is a way for a British citizen to bring their dependent family members over to the UK to escape from the mess in Hong Kong by the hands of the Communist party of China ...

Thanks

From reading the following website this special route is only for BNO holders.....

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/british-...s-in-hong-kong

and not for British citizens who have moved to Hong Kong and now live there......

Hi SanDiegogirl

Thanks for the reply, seems pretty unfair to the British citizens who have lived and worked and paid taxes here .....

British citizens are entitled to public funds; BN(O) visa holders are not.

thats true actually but then the financial requirement makes it very hard to even apply for your dependent visas through the normal route
