Birth Certificate, Welsh language
Hi, is a birth certificate mandatory for the applicant? I'm an Australian who is a resident (and applying) from Berlin, and I've just seen to apply for a copy of my birth cert will take longer than my appointment date. I obviously have a valid passport, and also my old passport too.
Also, my partner has some supporting documentation in Welsh, will this affect the application?
Thanks

You don't need a birth certificate for yourself, only from your sponsor.

PHEW!!! This also makes sense. And I'm sure if it's all in Welsh (proud first language kind of family), this won't need to be translated either?

I believe that's the rule, but I doubt they have many Welsh-speaking staff in Sheffield. I don't know what effect that would have on your application. Anyway this is just my speculation.

The applicant’s birth certificate is more relevant than the sponsor’s, but neither are a mandatory requirement. Welsh birth certificates are bilingual. The supporting documents technically can be in English or Welsh but as above I’m not sure how many Welsh speakers they have working in Sheffield.
