After application submission, my solicitor advised of a biometric appointment available 4 weeks after date of application! Is it normally how it is?

That’s not unusual if you’re looking for a free appointment slot. There is likely to be more availability if you are willing to pay extra. Ask your solicitor about this possibility.

I was able to check different slots myself on VFS web-site upon logging into my husband’s application .
