Better to get married in the UK or my fiancée's country?(For spouse visa/rights)

That's very true, BritInParis, applicants need to read that section carefully. I as just trying to point out the financial requirement isn't solely the British citizen responsibility, there are some other combinations that work. I used my investment portfolio, a monthly payment I receive from holding the contract while selling an inherited home and cash savings. I don't typically hold a large amount of cash and not for a 6 month period but I think I will do so before the next stage 2.5 y arms from now. Just to streamline the paperwork.

If you have the funds then parking the required cash savings in a GBP savings account for the next five years is a stress-free of ensuring you meet the financial requirements for the next five years.
