Bank Statements (again)

Hoping someone can help... the prep for the visa so far was going so well..

I am leaving for Malaysia on 18th Dec to get married on the 29th. Me and my partner were going to submit app in early Jan once the marriage certificate has arrived. To cut to the chase, my next wage will not be paid until after the 18th and the november statement will already "out of date" (28 days) by the time of application in Jan. As I'm in Malaysia I can't get it stamped by the bank for the December statement and I'm sure they won't accept the December one downloaded by me alone.

Is my only option to come home get the statement stamped and then post the original to my partner? I can't even scan them and email them to her? The whole point was for me to take all the originals of what we needed with me but this has truly screwed everything up. 4 years of waiting to be together and still the wait will be delayed...

My dad asked if the bank would write a letter prospective letter but I highly doubt it. Anxiety levels hitting the roof right now!

Re: Bank Statements (again)

Tricky problem, i had a similar experience recently getting my statement from the UK to China, but should be quite simple to overcome.

My advice would be to authorise someone you trust to have control over your account before you leave Malaysia. Then, your dad maybe, could get the statement printed, stamped and sent to you. I wrote a letter asking my branch to issue a statement to my mother - small town so they know here - but they wouldn't do it, due to rules. They told me if we had gone into the branch together previously and i had signed an authorisation she could have then done it.

The bank sent me a digitally stamped one but time was tight so my father scanned it and emailed it to me as back up. In the end, the original did arrive in China in time so i was able to use it. But, interestingly, when i went to VFS i noted a scanned colour copy would have been all right (In fact, i think colour copies of everything would have been okay but i am not offering this as advice).

My advice, get down the bank this afternoon and give control over your account to someone else - problem solved and then just pray they don't nick all your money! :)
