Back to Uk with Blind daughter
My daughter (with Uk passport) is planning to come back to the UK to live with her fiancé and blind 3.5 year daughter from NZ. She left with the family when she was 10.
She has teaching qualification with some limited experience since, degrees and is multilingual in English Spanish and Italian. Her fiancé has limited English and speaks Spanish and is Columbian. Was in the army and has basic skills only.
Needless to say they have very limited money
Does anyone know what facilities are available for a preschool little blind girl, and the education system from age 5.
Any grants/disability allowances available?
I know things are going to be incredibly difficult for them so any help gratefully received....

The first thing she needs to sort is is how to get a visa for her fiance if thata is possible.
She needs to look at the 'Read Me' parts of the forum in this link.

What she has to bear in mind as well regarding the financial requirements, is that that is currently being reviewed after a judge commented that the level was far too high.
Given her fiance's nationality, it may be easier for him the get to Spain as, AFAIK, he will need no visa for there, then after a while he may be able to get to the UK, but they also need to look at whether the Surinder Singh route requires them to be married.

No problem re getting married, but he has to get his NZ Citizenship as he was a refugee ( Never standard case, our family LOL)
Does she have to have a full time job earning the amount or in cold hard ( and ever diminishing) cash....
Will look at Spanish possibility, but with about 30% unemployment over there it still would be difficult - housing may be cheap though.....
Seems that the goalposts keep moving

Thanks for that, let me know if they lower the amount. Better head off to bed as 10.05pm in rather cold Tokoroa New Zealand. Look after yourself in the heat wave.
Any other tips gratefully received and ta

Will her husband get a visa ? There are income requirements which place real obstacles in the way.
