Assets instead of income?

Hello all! If a couple isn't currently working can they use assets such as home ownership in the U.K. to meet the financial requirements for the spouse/ family visa?

If you can't meet the financial requirements through income, then you'll need to use the savings route, which means cash savings that are available to you immediately. If you sell the home and the proceeds are enough to meet the financial requirements (£62,500 for spouse with no children) then you can use these funds to meet the financial requirement through cash savings. You can't use equity in property.
