Default Appendix 2?

So i'm filling out the spouse settlement visa at long last.

We both live in the USA, moving to UK.

I am assuming I use Appendix two as no other appendix is relevant to our situation. But Appendix two only talks about people being already settled in the UK.

Is this the correct form?

The wording is a little misleading but this is the correct form.

Yes, that "settled" wording confuses everyone. I really wish they would change it. In other places the wording is "settled or with full right to settle in the UK"... Very annoying that that has not been corrected on the actual form....

I'm actually finding it easier than I thought, I built up filling it out so much that i didn't do it for ages, now i'm kicking myself for wasting so much time.

But I need to send the kids British passport applications off first as I need those numbers for the spouse visa form.

Agreed. They absolutely need to have the wording exactly the same on every form, its unacceptable that they dont.

Oh, talking of discrepancies, that reminds me to tell you.

The UK settlement visa applications from the US are now to be sent directly to Sheffield, they are no longer to be sent to the NY Hub for forwarding. You also have to enclose a postage paid return envelope. This is new too.

Settlement applications

If you are applying for settlement you must send your application to our visa processing office in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Once we have made a decision on your application, your passport and supporting documents will be sent back to you. You must send your visa application to:
UK Visas and Immigration,
International Operations and Visa,
6 Millsands,
Sheffield,
S3 8NH,
United Kingdom
provide a shipping label, waybill or self-addressed envelope for use when returning your package to you and provide appropriate packaging for the return of your package (for more information please see our return of documents page).

The UKBA website has now been updated but for a good few days I have been following the chaos/confusion that this change has caused (on another forum) as the info on the biometrics receipt was already saying to send to Sheffield but the website had not caught up yet.

I think this information should be a forum sticky, any mods that see this, could you please make that happen?
