I am in Singapore (AUS Citizen) with UK husband and children. As they take your passport when you apply, I am island bound in Singapore and they say it can be 3 - 6 months. But I have to travel for work and not sure how much longer I can put it off. Does anyone know how long it is taking at the moment - assuming that I tick all the boxes!
Alternatively, does anyone know about getting your passport back while they are assessing the application. They frowned at me when I suggested that I may need it!

A lot depends on where you apply from and how straightforward (or not) your application is. Plug in the country where you filed the application and then go down to the bottom to look at the "Settlement Visas" category.

Don't forget to check again right around the time you submit your application. The average processing times can and do change sometimes, depending on a variety of factors....
