Ancestry Visa
https://www.gov.uk/ancestry-visa
I am a UK citizen, born in the UK. In 1978 I had a son in Zambia. I did not register his birth at the UK Consulate. He died in 2010. He has a daughter, my grandaughter, born in 1998.
What does she have to do to get an ancestry visa ?

Re: Ancestry Visa
i was teaching on the Overseas Service Aid Scheme organised by the Ministry of Overseas Development. I am not sure if that is "Crown Service"

Re: Ancestry Visa
If you were recruited in the UK then that should qualify as Crown service. As such your son would’ve become a British citizen otherwise than by descent in 1983 and therefore, providing her parents were married, your granddaughter is a British citizen by descent. She’ll need the appropriate birth and marriage certificates as well as a letter from DFID confirming your service and recruitment in the UK.
