Ancestry or UKM? (Wife and Kids)
Tanks to BritInParis, it seems I would qualify for UKM.
So here is my dilema: Ancestry or UKM passport? We plan to move to the UK for some sort of adventure, not permanently (at the moment I'd take South Africa's politics over the UKs...)
My wife and two small sons (4 and 2) are both as South African as you can get.
My wife lived in the UK for two years under the working holiday scheme, and I previously lived there on the ancestry scheme.
Which is the more practical and cost effective route?

Ancestry if you’re taking your family and plan on working for five years. You’ll all qualify for ILR after five years. You can then register as a British citizen under UKM for £80 and your wife can then immediately naturalise as a British citizen and your children can be registered as British citizens otherwise than by descent.

Re: Ancestry or UKM? (Wife and Kids)
Thanks BritinParis.
Next questions:
1. I understand that I will apply (and probably be granted) another ancestry visa. How exactly do my very young children and wife apply, what do they apply for? Do they each need a visa in their passports or is the visa in my passport enough?
2. What is the cost of their visas? The ancestry is 516 pounds but I can't see what visas they will have to get.
Thanks.
