Hopefully this is the correct thread to post this...

I recently proposed to my American Girlfriend of 2.5 years. We met in USA but plan to settle in England. I am from England and can obviously stay here but she cannot. We are wondering if anyone is able to advise us on the path we need to take to get married and settled in England?

We have looked into the process multiple times but get overwhelmed by all the information that gets thrown at us!

Get married in the US, then apply for a family spouse visa for her.

If you want to marry in the UK, then you need to apply for fiance visa first, then once married the family spouse visa.

If she came over on a fiance Visa first would she be able to switch onto the family spouse visa without leaving the UK?
