Adult Dependant Relative Visa
Hi All,
Asking for a friend.
My friend wanted to sponsor his mother to live with him and his family here in the UK. They have a spare room that his mother used whenever she visit the UK. My friend has been persuading her to live with them permanently, however his mother keeps on declining as she is happier in their home country.
COVID happens, few of people she knows passed away and a close relative. Some of her friends moved to their children for better care. That made his mother realised that it is most reasonable to be with her son. All of my friends siblings are settled abroad with their respective family.
His mother is turning 80 years old next month. She's been a widow since 2009 and been living alone with a helper but will be relocating abroad soon. She's needs constant care and help to deal with everyday chores.
My friend and his wife, works for the NHS as a nurse for 20+ years. They have 2 children, 17 and 9 years old.
Is Adult Dependant Relative Visa the only way for my friend to bring his mother to the UK? What are his options? I've read that ADR Visa are close to ZERO approval, is that true?
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Thanks,

An Adult Dependent Relative is the only route - it's tough one. As your friend has been living in the UK for 20+ years, proving the mother's dependency on them is going to be a tough scenario.

Thanks SanDiegoGirl and BritInParis!
My friend will consult to an experienced immigration consultant. It’s too costly but if they can be guided to get an approved visa, my friend is happy to take try it.
best regards.
