Default 3rd generation UK visa

Hi everybody. Does anyone know how I would go about attaining a UK visa (or whatever other name it may go under)? I am from Canada and I know that if a parent or grandparent was born in the UK we are eligable for a UK passport/visa....., or....? I don't even know what it's called! Help!! I would like to have the option to work in the UK and I know this would greatly simplify things as well as make travel easier. Thanks!

I believe it's called Patrial 'right of abode'. Read a little more about it here and perhaps search the web a bit more.

My sister just got this for her son who was in school in Shropshire and then went on to University in Canterbury. Her husband has a Scottish grandmother and his Mum was born in Scotland. My nephew loves Canterbury and wants to stay on and work...

A very useful link from the UK High Commission on Ottawa:
