Re: 2017 UK SPOUSE VISA TIMELINES
Dear all still waiting no response or update on what's happening? However for those who received their settlement visa, did you get your passport back and all documents before receiving any emails or confirmation about the decision made. I haven't received my passport and documents it's getting stressful. All documents sent on the 10th of April 2017 and no response at all.

I got documents back from sheffield within a few days with a letter saying they'd been scanned.
Passport will be kept until a decision is made.
Try the status checker link earlier in this thread. Please however be aware it only works at very late stage of applications. So don't worry if it doesn't find your reference.

Where did you send them to & did you include a prepaid return envelope?

Re: 2017 UK SPOUSE VISA TIMELINES
My wife applied online in Thailand mid April. Attended VFS in Bangkok for handover documents and biometrics on 27 April.
On 4 May email from Sheffield confirming ECO had the papers.
23 June I paid the £5.48 for the privilege of sending an enquiry by email.
25 June I received the following response:
"Thank you for your email dated 23.06.2017. I apologise for the delay in my response. I have checked the status of your visa application and it is still awaiting a decision. I have enclosed a link below for you to check the processing times for yourself:
https://visa-processingtimes.homeoffice.gov.uk/y "

Re: 2017 UK SPOUSE VISA TIMELINES
Hello, I just want to thank the people on this thread for sharing their experiences and advice.
17 March: submitted my online application
27 March: went to VFS Osaka, where they scanned my docs and sent to Sheffield.
Heard on the same day by email from UKVI that my application was received. I applied non-priority.
Right before I submitted my application I was reading on Japanese spouses getting their visas approved within two to three weeks in very recent past, so I was expecting to hear from them by the end of April but no news...I became a bit anxious.
12 June: I finally wrote to UKVI (paying 5GBP) asking about the status of my application.
14 June: I got a brief reply saying that my application was "awaiting a decision" and this has not changed since 27 March.
23 June: I emailed again and immediately got an answer saying that "a decision was made on 21 June" and that I would hear from them within 10 working days on how my documents would be returned.
2 July: Still waiting to receive that letter with the decision and info on what to do next. I hope that the result is a positive one.
I will post again when I actually hear from them. Three full months without my otherwise heavily used passport has been quite trying but I came across this thread and could feel calmer as there seems to be an across-the-board delay in processing. So thank you again and I hope to update soon...

Re: 2017 UK SPOUSE VISA TIMELINES
Hello
I am new here. Thank you for the information you all have put in. It is very useful.
I am in the same situation as many people here are in, waiting without knowing when. I applied spouse visa (priority) from VFS Thailand. Got an email from Sheffield that they received the application and was preparing documents for consideration to ECO on June 1st. I haven't heard anything since. We called immigration call centre to check the status, they only said "under decision" or "checking". Last call I heard "awaiting checks" which I really don't know what does it mean. Although I am trying to be positive, still I am worried, can it mean that they haven't even looked at my documents?
From this thread and other forums, I do realise there are gzillian applications waiting at the moment at Sheffield. When I submitted the application, it said 100% of applications will be processed within 30 days. However, now it changed to 60 days so I don't really know with priority service we paid, we will get the visa before or not. Is 60 days timeline for both priority and standard?
I have my husband and our sons waiting for my return, so emotionally I have been up and down with this waiting. Fingers crossed for everyone too.
Please drop any ideas, info, or any suggestions. I am thankful for this forum

My wifes application was made in Bangkok at the end of April and still not heard anything.
I have been following a few forums and everyone is in the same position, 3 full months waiting has become normal.

You should not worry at this early stage, most are taking the full 60 working days , priorty or non priorty seem to be settled around the same time.
My wifes application was made in Bangkok at the end of April and still not heard anything.

I know a lot of Thai/English couples and they are all in the same boat regardless of paying for priority or not!
Before everything transfered to Sheffield priority applications were taking only a couple of weeks but now Sheffield is so far behind they seem to have given up on worrying if people paid priority or not.
I would apply for refund of your extra payment once visa is issued due to being beyond the projected time for priority.
You should get that money back as its out of the SLA for the service you have paid for.
In the meantime be patient as it can come at anytime, dont waist your money calling or emailing them because that is a complete waist and you wont get any useful information from them!
Check the status page:
https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/visa_application/checkvisastatus
with your GWF number and once it recognizes your number that means you only have days to wait for some news.
Best of luck!

No we decided to go non priority as we know people who have paid that still waited 55-60 days and others that have not paid and waited around 60 days.

No other emails received. I think we will be waiting for day 60 or thereabouts. I am using 27th April as day one.
Good luck with yours.
