2 Years or 6 months correspondence?

2 Years or 6 months correspondence?
Hello, we are checking out 2.5 year spouse visa renewal online form and the correspondence address section asks for the following docs:
'You must provide at least 6 items of correspondence, addressed to you and your partner jointly or in both your names. The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole 2 years.'
and...
Items of correspondence addressed to XX and XX at the same address as evidence you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together, covering the last 2 years'
We thought the period to be covered was 6 months prior to the application but the above request mentions 'over the whole 2 years' - could anyone clarify if 2 years worth of correspondence is needed?
