2.5 Year Spouse Visa Extension / Arrival back to UK close to BRP expiry
Hello, my husband's 2.5 year visa will expire in March 2022. We planned to travel abroad up until around 1 week before the expiry date. Would this be an issue at immigration control?

No issue with re-entering the country; but you can't apply for the the extention while out of the country, so you'll have a week to get your application in?

Thank you!! I hope this would be ok as we planned to submit online once back in UK (1 week before expiry), and book the appointment slot. Been told it's ok at this point for the BRP to expire as long as we've got our appointment booked? (The appointment can be after BRP expiry as long as its booked and online form submitted) Not sure if that's correct though?

You need to get your application submitted before your BRP expires. Your BRP appointment can be after the expiration, however you should be thinking about applying for one as soon after the submission, taking into account the short amount of time you have to submit
