Default 14 Months and Counting First-time Adult UK Passport

Greetings. Since I think I have the longest ever passport application processing here at British Expats, I decided to make a separate thread.

Mods feel free to delete it, if you think I should not.

Anyway, just a quick summary. I applied on the 10th of April 2014 from the Philippines. I'm a British by Descent, applying for my first adult UK passport. I had a child passport before.

I already had my countersignatory check done. Additional documents were also asked of me. I have also attended an interview. So I don't think there's any more that HMPO will require of me, other than wait.

Anyway, after much prodding, emailing and calling up people, HMPO Bangkok finally have emailed me this.

----------------

Dear Mr. ,

Please note that our office has completed our procedures on your passport application with recommendations sent to the HMPO Liverpool office on Tuesday 23 June.

Please contact the Newport Passport advice line (as below) on the status of the application.

Please contact the Newport Passport advice line (details as below) where they will log and reply to you after making queries with the Liverpool office on the status of the application.

----------------

So to anyone who have undergone the application procedure, or is knowledgeable about it, what does this mean?

Does this mean, my passport will now be processed, if it will be sent to Livepool?

Forgive me, I know it's plain English. But after 1 year and 2 months of waiting, I'm afraid I have become cynical and disheartened by this passport application.

Sounds like your application has been passed back to Liverpool with Bangkok's opinion on whether you and your documents are genuine are not. As such I suspect you'll get a decision within the next fortnight or so, if not sooner.

If that is so, then finally, finally, I'll get a decision.

I'm not really nervous about it, both mother and father are British, my grandmother is a naturalised British, my uncle too. I have several relatives there.

In case, for whatever reason in hell they deny it, I'll get an Ancestry visa or Right of Abode in my passport and just apply in the UK instead.

All I want is a decision. After a year and two months, finally, just finally HMPO will decide. Best service in the world they say...
