Default Chinese Visa from UK and general advice

Hi
Im visiting Shanghai area of China next March (2010) for the first time.
Any advice, tips, hints would be warmly welcomed.
Also the cheapest place to get a visa from.
With thanks
Dave

Buy the Visa before you leave UK, from the nearest embassy to your home. However, for a bit extra, a travel company could do it for you (send the application to the embassy and collect it later).

Shanghai can be expensive !
