Default China Z Visa and Residence Permit

Hi there,

Please can people help me on two points:

My company is considering moving me to Shanghai, do I require either of the following for a Z-Visa/Residence Permit:

1) Health Check/Medical Examination
2) Police Certificate of No Criminal Record

If anyone can give me any insight on the above I would be grateful.

Thanks

Just to say Hi and welcome to the forum John. As you can see, I am far away from Shanghai so unable to help you. Hopefully some of our China experts will be along soon to advise you. All the best.

You should be wanting them to arrange a "Z" visa or an "F" visa for you.

What will you be doing. ?

If its a Z Visa you wish to have, your company must be registered in China already and they should send a set of documentations to you so you can obtain that, and might take them couple of weeks to arrange it.

F Visa, will let you inside the country with limited time and entries. you'll have to leave the country again to obtain your Z visa in order to come back and get your residential permit in China. (Hong Kong or Macau visits counts as outside as well)

.
Hi,

"F" visa will give you 1 year, with as many entry and exit as you want, (multi)
Maximum stay normally 90 days.
